Program Overview

About the Program

The Youth Glow Essentials Learning Program (YGELP) is a 1-year Continuing Professional Development (CPD) pathway designed for youth, educators, NGO staff, and community leaders. The program equips participants with practical skills in nonprofit leadership, project management, and community development, preparing them to lead impactful initiatives in Liberia and beyond.

How It Works

Participants complete 9 globally recognized Essentials Certificates from the DisasterReady online platform, which offers over 1,500 free self-paced courses widely used by humanitarian and nonprofit professionals worldwide. In addition, participants engage in locally tailored CPD workshops that connect global best practices to Liberia’s unique context.

Program Structure

The program runs over 12 months, organized into three tracks of 3 months each, followed by a 1-month capstone period for CPD workshops and graduation:

Track 1: Foundations of Practice
Project Management Essentials, MEAL Essentials, Security Risk Management Essentials
Track 2: Finance and Resources
Financial Management Essentials, Grant Seeking Essentials, Fundraising Essentials
Track 3: Leadership and Governance
Nonprofit Board Member Essentials, Nonprofit Essentials, MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint Skills
Capstone & Graduation: Locally tailored CPD workshops, reflection, and certification ceremony

Award

Graduates who successfully complete the program will be awarded the Professional Associate of Nonprofit Leadership and Community Development, a non-credit CPD credential accredited by the Ministry of Education, Liberia.
