Empowering Communities for Poverty Action
Poverty in Liberia is widespread, affecting over 50% of the population, and is particularly severe in rural areas, where nearly 80% of people were poor in 2016. Limited access to education and healthcare, food insecurity, and climate impacts on agriculture are key drivers.
Youth Glow empowers youth and women in frontline communities through climate action, sustainable livelihoods, education, and health resilience. In Bong and Nimba, our programs support sustainable farming, clean energy, entrepreneurship, literacy, and community health—restoring land, protecting resources, and creating lasting impact.
The Overlooked Majority
Rural youth and women make up most of Liberia’s population, yet their voices are often excluded from development and poverty reduction plans. They feed communities, manage resources, and drive local economies but face limited access to education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods, and are most affected by climate change and economic shocks.
Youth Glow empowers women and youth to lead change by equipping them with skills, knowledge, and resources; creating sustainable livelihoods, stronger communities, and lasting, resilient impact.

Impact at scale
"Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life".
Nelson Mandela
Activist and former President of South Africa
